First-person shooters have always been a sort of a guilty pleasure for me and I remember fondly of all the hours and days I spent on my computer playing Halo: Combat Evolved about a decade ago. While Halo will probably remain in my heart forever, as it was a road-opener for me in the gaming world, over the past few years, I found other exciting games to spend my free time on.

One of my favorites these days, and probably all-time favorites also, is N.O.V.A. 2 HD, an action-adventure video game released for Android about a year ago and clearly inspired by Halo and other similar action games. N.O.V.A. 2 HD for Android will soon get a follower, according to official statements from Gameloft, the series’ producers, and it’s almost as if I’m too excited to even finish this article.

The third iteration of the Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance franchise doesn’t have a release date attached to its name just yet, but the first teaser trailer made available by Gameloft will certainly keep fans of the series on their toes.

Even though the video clip, which you can watch for yourselves below, doesn’t give out any details about the actual gameplay, it’s pretty easy to get excited. The images are said to be “actual game footage” and show Kal Wardin, the game’s lead character, crash-landing on Earth as he prepares to land in San Francisco. Hmm, it’s difficult to guess the storyline at this point, but if we get the same bad-ass graphics, the excellent controls, and the great multiplayer experience of N.O.V.A. 2, I’m in, no matter what I have to do.

Gameloft is at the moment quiet on both the availability and pricing front, but I think it’s safe to assume that N.O.V.A. 3 will be released for around $6.99 sometime during summer, as it was the case with N.O.V.A. 2. I would also expect a few more trailers to come our way in the meantime, so keep in touch with Android Authority if you’re a fan of the series or you just enjoy shooting and blowing up bad guys on your mobile device!
