Nexus 7 Play Store

That didn’t take long!

Google has officially removed the Nexus 7 from the Play Store, and replaced it with the updated version, officially dubbed “The new Nexus 7”. While officially in the Play Store, the device is “coming soon” and currently unavailable for purchase.

Both the 16GB and 32GB versions are there, listed at $229 and $269, respectively. The new Nexus 7 is a marked improvement over the original, and just a touch more expensive. A starting price of $229 is still really impressive, though.

You can check out the full details of the device in our Nexus 7 roundup, and check out the official page in the Play Store here.

If that wasn’t enough, the Chromecast is also listed in the Play Store, now! Perhaps the real darling of Breakfast with Sundar, the Chromecast allows for wireless streaming via the cloud. You can stream YouTube videos, Play Store movies and TV, your Chrome browser (in beta, and only for Chromebook Pixel owners, Mac or Windows users), and Netflix movies.

The full details are listed here, and the Chromecast dongle can be purchased now via the Play Store. Hurry, though; at $35, they’re going fast!

Update: At the time this went live, the Chromecast was still available with a ship date of August 7. It now appears to be sold out.
