Deal: Nextbit Robin is now $299 on Amazon (Update)
Update, May 4: The Nextbit Robin is now available on Amazon at the discounted price of $299. That’s a $100 saving and a great deal for one of the most distinctive Android devices out there. Happy shopping!
Original post, May 3: Nextbit is a company that’s taking an unusual approach to smartphones. Their idea is to create a cloud-centric device that focuses on minimizing internal storage and passing the savings onto you. The kick-started Nextbit Robin hitches its wagon to the cloud, and supporters liked the concept enough to fund over $1.3 million toward making the product a reality. Now Robin devices are settling into the market, but the normal price tag is $399. However, we’ve received word from Nextbit that, for the next week only, you can snag the Robin for one hundred bucks cheaper on Amazon.
The sale runs from May 4th to May 10th, so you’ll have to act between tomorrow and next Tuesday to get in on the action. Note that Nextbit will actually still be selling the Robin for its usual price through their online store during this time frame, so you’ll have to shop through Amazon to get this 25-percent-off deal.
So what exactly do you get when you purchase a Nextbit Robin? Well, 100 GB of online storage comes part and parcel with each of these devices. You can use this to store photos, videos, or apps, and you have the freedom to add or remove them from your phone’s physical memory at the drop of a hat. The smartphone has a minimalist, utilitarian design that rocks a 5.2-inch 1080p LCD display. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 808 processor powered by 3GB of RAM, and the internal storage is 32 gigs. That’s a pretty solid deal at $299.
