The time has come for Motorola DROID X owners to be happy (or happier, if that’s the case). Especially if you’re addicted to movie flicks streamed over the Web, you’ll love hearing about the Netflix app’s most recent update.

Although the Motorola DROID X is almost a year old on the market, running the Netflix app on the device has been nothing but difficult. But, that changes right now, as Netflix has updated its Android app and now includes full support for the Motorola DROID X.

Netflix support for the Motorola DROID X apparently came after the handset got some loving upgrade for Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The over-the-air upgrades started rolling out to DROID X devices just middle of this week. Among the perks are performance boosts, support for VoIP, and some changes in the user interface’s look and feel.

In addition to the DROID X, the Netflix app also officially supports several other handsets running on Android 2.2 Froyo: Casio G’zone Commando C771, Motorola DROID, HTC Incredible, HTC Nexus One, HTC G2, LG Revolution.

Two devices running Android 2.3 Gingerbread are currently also officially supported: HTC Nexus One and Samsung Nexus S.

Better late than never, though. Expect the Netflix team to lengthen its list of supported handsets in the next few days.
