Motorola Assist gets a new update, lets drivers respond to texts using their voice

A new Motorola Assist update has now arrived bringing a bug fixes and a few new features designed to make life easier while driving.
January 13, 2014

Owners of the Moto X, and Verizon’s newer Motorola Droids, will be happy to know that a new update to Motorola Assist has arrived! The latest update includes a few new features geared towards making life easier while driving.

Probably the most important added feature is the ability to respond to text messages using nothing more than your voice. Some other changes include improved driving detection, and Motorola Assist will also now launch your favorite music app automatically while you’re driving. Aside from these new driver-focused features, the change-log also mentions unspecified bug fixes.

The latest update might not be a game changer, but it is exciting to see Google and Motorola actively updating their Motorola-specific apps at a fairly regular pace. It is also important to see Motorola rolling out more features geared towards helping drivers stay focused on the road, instead of staring at their phone’s display.

To grab the update for yourself, you’ll need to head on over to Google Play.
