  • The Motorola Razr 2022 and X30 Pro have a new launch date.
  • Official specs of the flagship phones have been outed thanks to retail listings.

After abruptly postponing the Motorola Razr 2022 and X30 Pro launch last week, the company has put out a new date for unveiling the phones.

According to Motorola’s post on Weibo, the two new flagships will arrive in China on August 11 at 2 PM local time (2 AM ET). It looks like Motorola won’t be able to beat Samsung to the market with its new foldable clamshell. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 that’s poised to take on the new Razr when it launches globally is all set to launch on August 10.

Meanwhile, the specs of both the Razr 2022 and Motorola X30 Pro are out, thanks to retail listings of the phones.

Motorola Razr 2022 specs

The new Razr will sport a 6.7-inch main display with a 144Hz refresh rate. That’s the highest refresh rate on any foldable phone to date. The outer screen of the phone will measure 2.7-inches, unchanged from the previous Razr model.

Additionally, the Motorola Razr 2022 is also confirmed to house the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip, making it a true flagship compared to its predecessors that didn’t get top-tier Qualcomm chips.

In the camera department, the Razr 2022 gets a 50MP + 13MP rear camera setup and a 32MP selfie shooter.

The company previously confirmed that the device would have a 3,500mAh battery. There’s still no official word on the charging details.

Motorola X30 Pro specs

Motorola has confirmed that the X30 Pro will carry a 200MP Samsung HP1 camera sensor. Other than that, it will also house a 50MP ultrawide sensor, and a 12MP telephoto shooter.

Long rumored as the Motorola Frontier, the X30 Pro has all the other markings of a flagship, too, with a 6.67-inch display, Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, 125W wired charging, and 50W wireless charging.

It’s expected to launch in other markets outside of China as the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra. The phone’s European price also leaked recently, and it could rival the Galaxy S22 Ultra at €899 (~$915).
