Moto G2 leaked images give us most detailed look at the phone yet

New images of the Moto G2 have leaked to the web, showing off the device from nearly every angle.
August 26, 2014

Come September 4th, Motorola is expected to take the veil off the Moto 360, Moto X+1 and the next generation Moto G — often referred to as the G2. We’ve already heard quite a few details about what the latter of these devices will bring to the table, which is primarily a screen size and camera resolution update. Now thanks to HellomotoHK (who previously brought us X+1 images), we get a better look at what the device looks like as well.

As you can see, aside from getting a bigger screen and taking on some of the design elements from the Moto E, the Moto G2’s form factor is still very similar to its predecessor, complete with removable back covers so you can switch up the colors. While this is just speculation at this point, perhaps Motorola could even consider bringing a few different textures to the mix as well.

Turning to the specs, HelloMotoHK reiterates that the device will have a 5-inch 720p display, a higher resolution 8MP camera, front-facing stereo speakers, and a microSD slot. Other rumored specs (not specifically mentioned by HelloMotoHK) include a quad-core Snapdragon 400, 1GB RAM, and 8/16GB storage options.

What do you think of the Moto G2, based on what we currently know? Enough of an upgrade, providing pricing ends up similar to the last-gen? What other new software/hardware features would you like to see adopted for the next-gen Moto G?
