Owners of the Moto G Google Play Edition are about ready to make the jump from Android 4.4.2 to Android 4.4.4, as the OTA has begun rolling out!

As you might imagine, even though neither 4.4.3 or 4.4.4 aren’t ‘major’ updates, the combination of the two updates in one package means that this is a fairly sizable file at 161MB. The update will take you from KOT49H to KTU84, and the update is expected to rollout over the air in stages. The bulk of the changes will be bug fixes, which should result in a smoother overall experience.

If you aren’t interesting in waiting for the update, the good news is that the OTA link has been captured, thanks to the efforts of XDA forum member salxs. There’s two different approaches for installing this update. For those with custom recovery, you can manually flash the update directly from your device. Those with stock, will need to sideload through ADB.

For those that have already made the update, can you tell the difference performance-wise? Did everything go as planned, during and post installation? Let us know in the comments.
