After a sneaky appearance on Joshua Topolsky’s wrist on Jimmy Fallon’s show, the Moto 360 looks all but ready to launch. The price tag is still one of the big unknowns of the device, but, if one UK retailer is correct, we’ve finally got ourselves a solid clue.
Electronics retailer MobileFun claims the Moto 360 will cost £199 when it launches in the UK “later this summer.” For comparison, the LG G Watch, the only other Android Wear smartwatch announced so far, will cost £180 in the United Kingdom, when it launches in July.
Now, UK prices are rarely a direct conversion of US prices, so we don’t expect the Moto 360 to cost around $280 (tax free) when it makes its way stateside. For reference, a Gear Neo costs $199 on Amazon US, while the Gear 2 goes for $299.
The good news is the Moto 360 will likely be somewhere in the $200-$250 range, incidentally the price range that most of our readers said they would be willing to pay for the device. Moreover, Motorola recently mentioned $250 as the retail value of the Moto 360 in the fine print of a design competition, though it later denied the veracity of the price.
Would you buy the Moto 360 at $250?
