“Choose” is the theme Motorola is going with as they’ve begun live Tweeting the release of their newest line of phones, wearables and accessories. The official announcements are at IFA in Berlin in a couple hours, but the Motorola website is ablaze with the new tech.
Motorola Moto 360
Leading the charge is the Moto 360, Motorola’s first crack at an Android Wear powered smartwatch, and the first smartwatch to come onto the scene sporting a rounded face and display. This has been a much anticipated device, but the wait is over with sales opening up today, September 5th, 2014. (U.S. only for now.)
We will have all the details of the Moto 360, including our hands review out of Berlin coming soon.
There are no surprises in the announcement, the Moto 360 sports the 1.56-inch LCD, 320×290 rounded display at 205 ppi, 320mAh battery with wireless charging, Texas Instruments OMAP 3 processor, 512MB of RAM with 4GB of internal storage, pedometer, heart rate monitor, IP67 water resistance and Bluetooth 4.0LE all powered by Android Wear.
The Motorola website has the Moto 360 listed, be sure to take a peek and check out their promo video while we wait for the official announcement and pricing information. We do expect it will sell for $250, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Rounding out the wearables and accessories are the Moto Hint and the Power Pack Micro.
Motorola Moto Hint
The Moto Hint is a discreet Bluetooth headset that is your one stop shop to control your device and activate Google Now functionality all by voice. This wireless earbud style unit takes the always listening “OK, Google” hotword to the next level, letting you leave your phone in your pocket. The unique carrying case doubles as a portable charger, offering up two full charges worth of juice on the go. And the IR proximity sensor automatically turns the Moto Hint on when in your ear and off when placed in the charger.
Again, Motorola has the Moto Hint up on their site, and we will have all the coverage you need out of IFA coming soon. For now, how about another promo video.
Motorola Power Pack Micro
The Power Pack Micro is a dual purpose keychain sized external power pack and phone/keys finder. The internal 1500mAh battery provides a little bit of juice on the go, and has Motorola Keylink, which produces a beep when you venture too far from your phone or keys, and can even help you locate missing keys. Available in a good selection of colors, all of which can be found on the Motorola website, or hang tight for our coverage coming right away from Berlin.
Stay tuned, Motorola has a couple new phones live on the site as well, we’ll have the details right away and coverage of the new Moto X and Moto G smartphones, including our first touch hands-on reviews, shortly after Motorola’s official announcements at 11am in Berlin.
