What is Month: The Calendar Widget

Month: The Calendar Widget is essentially the most glorious selection of calendar widgets available right now. The app comes with a single widget which is a month view style calendar widget. From there you can select over 70 themes which are available in theme packs.

Here’s how it works. You get the basic calendar widget for free along with a few themes. You can purchase more if you so choose via in app purchases. Much like SwiftKey’s new in app purchase scheme, you can buy theme packs that contain only a few themes that are set up with other themes that are alike (e.g. minimal). Alternatively, you can buy all of the themes for one price and not worry about it anymore. You can also pay to remove ads but buying any theme pack will also remove ads so we recommend that if you’re going to spend any money, just buy themes because ads will be removed automatically once you do.

Once you have found the themes you want it’s a matter of putting the widget on your home screen, selecting the theme, and then enjoying it. Along with the widget, there are some cursory features that people who actually use calendars can use such as creating new events and the like. You won’t have the hardcore features that you would in Google Calendar or other offerings but it’s more than enough for casual users. We would also like to mention that pretty much all pieces of Month are astonishingly well designed. There is definitely a lot of eye candy here.

Month the calendar widget featured
The bottom line is simply this: you have two options when it comes to calendars. You can have a calendar app that is packed with features or beautiful widgets but it’s very difficult to find both. If you need something that’s really feature heavy in the calendar department, this may not work for you. However, if you’re a casual calendar user and want some eye candy to make your scheduling more pretty then this is perfect. It’s free to try so give it a shot!
