Xiaomi has been working hard to keep its devices updated. It was one of the first OEMs to bring Android 10 to non-Pixel devices, and with the upcoming MIUI 11 update, its devices were promised system optimizations and a “refreshing” UI update later this year.

In an interesting turn of events, XDA Developers noticed Xiaomi already began accidentally rolling out a pre-release version of MIUI 11 for a handful of devices. Some of the devices to receive this update are the Redmi K20 Pro, Mi Mix 2S, and Mi 6.

MIUI 11 Leaked

The download links were briefly available for the MIUI 11 9.9.9 closed beta, allowing anyone to download and flash it on their own devices. An XDA Developers forum member was able to download and modify it to work on other devices.

The MIUI 11 update brings new icons and a redesigned user interface. The design is colorful, uses a lot of white space, and looks more polished overall.

It will also brings a handful of new features to Xiaomi devices, including the cross-device file sharing implementation that Xiaomi codeveloped with OPPO and vivo. Other new improvements include a revamped always-on display feature, a new Xiaomi Community app, a redesigned file manager, a dark mode scheduler, messaging app quick replies, and a new “dynamic sounds” feature.

As XDA Developers states, this is a pre-release build of MIUI 11, and we are not sure if this is what the final product will look like. For now, MIUI 11 looks promising and makes us very excited for the final stable release.
