We’ve been hearing rumors for a while about HTC’s upcoming plastic-clad alternative to the more premium HTC One, known to us as the M8 Ace. More recently, HTC has even teased plans for the device, which is said to feature a vertically curved back. Now all that we are left to wonder is when the HTC M8 Ace will launch, and whether or not this will be the handset’s final name.
If a new leak from Chinese-site iFanr proves correct, we might now have an answer to both of these questions. The website not only contains a leaked image of a new HTC device that looks identical to the oft-rumored M8 Ace, it also says that the handset will arrive on June 3rd in China under the name HTC One M8 Vogue Edition. It remains unseen whether this name will be used in other markets or not.
As for the specs under the hood of the One M8 Vogue? The handset will have very similar internal specifications to the M8, including a Snapdragon 801 CPU, a 5-inch 1080p display, 2GB RAM and Android 4.4 with Sense 6. Where things differ is in the use of a plastic casing, that and the Vogue’s lack of a Duo camera. Instead, the Vogue will reportedly offer a single 13MP rear camera.
Even better, the Vogue Edition will reportedly cost 3000 Chinese Yuan, or about $480. Again, we still can’t say for sure whether the Vogue is the exact same as the M8 Ace, though they certainly seem connected.
What do you think of the M8 Ace (aka One Vogue), interested in a plastic-clad HTC handset or not?
