Ultra-hard 2D platformer Lost Socks: Naughty Brothers has finally arrived on Android (for good). Nerf Game’s acclaimed title is now available for free from the Google Play Store.

While the iOS favorite has technically hit Android devices in the past thanks to a Humble Bundle offer, today marks Lost Socks’ debut on the Play Store. Unlike previous incarnations, the version on offer is free-to-play with optional in-game microtransactions (up to $15.99).

Editor's Pick

For those unfamiliar with the game, Lost Socks: Naughty Brothers is a hard-as-nails auto-runner with a unique cartoon style. You play as one of the titular socks in search of his lost brother, presumably because all socks have to come in pairs, right?

Most auto-runner games stick to a fairly simple control scheme, but Lost Socks adds a little more variety to the mix. As well as a standard jump, you can inflate your head to float for a short time to avoid obstacles. There’s also a dash attack for smashing open crates and through hazards.

Each stage is littered with hordes of enemies, but thankfully your cotton-based avatar isn’t unarmed. Most of the bad dudes will go down with a blast from your regular machine gun, but if you’re in a tight spot you can whip out a more powerful rechargeable cannon.

Despite the kid-friendly visual style, Lost Socks is a punishing game with a steep difficulty curve, but if you’re up for a challenge then be sure to give it a try. Hit the button below to head over to the store page.
