Weirdly enough, this is LG's second Wear OS-powered smartwatch to swing by the FCC in as many months.

TL;DR
  • An LG smartwatch showed up at the FCC under model number LM-W319.
  • The smartwatch runs Wear OS, though the FCC listing revealed very little.
  • This could be the upcoming Watch Timepiece, which LG reportedly plans to launch sometime this month.

Even though we called the LG Watch Sport the best smartwatch you can buy, it is almost a year and a half old. With a successor rumored to arrive sometime soon, the FCC received a visitor in the form of the LM-W319.

According to the FCC documents, the W319 is a Wear OS-based smartwatch that features Bluetooth and WiFi. The documents also showed the settings menu, though there was no mention of cellular connectivity.

Interestingly, another LG smartwatch also stopped by the FCC in May. Listed as the LM-W315, the smartwatch also lacked cellular connectivity and featured Bluetooth and WiFi.

There could be a chance that the W315 and W319 are different variants of the same rumored LG Watch Timepiece, in the vein of the LG Watch Sport and Watch Style.

It should also be noted that the W315 and W319 are listed on LG’s OpenSource Code Distribution center. Both devices are listed as mobile devices and run Android Oreo and Wear OS.

Rumored to be LG’s next smartwatch, the Watch Timepiece reportedly features analog watch hands over a digital screen. This hybridization could open up new functionality, though it could also be annoying if you plan to use regular Wear OS apps on the daily.

The Watch Timepiece will reportedly feature a 1.2-inch circular display, Snapdragon 2100, 4GB of storage, 240mAh battery, and IP68 dust and water resistance. LG reportedly plans to launch the smartwatch in South Korea in June, with an international release to follow.
