LG have recently committed to Android in a big way and the offspring of this new LG-Android relationship are starting to emerge. Say hello to the new LG GT540 Android Phone. At CES, LG described this phone as a “a specialized social networking smartphone” and is “the ideal smartphone for first-time smartphone users”. In particular, LG noted that the device was orientated towards the main social network sites, including Bebo, Facebook and Twitter.

In terms of the specifications, LG include a basic 3-megapixel camera but also throw in an expandable microSD memory slot giving the device up to 32mb of storage. The device does come fully loaded with Google applications and accompaniments, including Google Maps, Google Search, Gmail, YouTube and Android Market.

The phone is expected to become available globally from April 2010 but currently there is no word on the price point of this device. For more pictures and images head over to Pocket-Lint, or check the gallery below for some highlights.
