LG releases the first game for its Quickcircle case

LG has released the first game, named Puppy Pop, which can be played through the window in its Quickcircle case for the LG G3.
July 23, 2014

The LG G3’s Quickcircle case is pretty useful for quickly checking the time, glancing at notifications, and quickly accessing music player or camera options. But the functionality doesn’t stop there, LG has today announced the first game developed entirely with the windowed LG G3 case in mind.

The game is named Puppy Pop, and is a match-three puzzle game developed by LG specifically for the case. Players accumulate points by drawing lines through three or more identical puppies, removing as many from the board before time runs out. Scores can also be shared on the player’s social network site of choice.

LG has been trying to encourage development of a broader selection of apps designed for the Quickcircle window, and has recently made its QCircle software development kit (SDK) available to developers to help create a wider range of apps and functions for LG’s product. Although it remains to be seen how many third party developers are likely to spend time optimizing games just for the Quickcircle window.

It’s great to see that LG is continuing to support and enhance some of the more unique aspects of its mobile products. Puppy Pop will be available as a free download from the Google Play Store later today, July 23.
