Starting with the LG Optimus G, most modern LG devices now feature QSlide apps, which are small windowed applications that run in the foreground, while other apps continue to run in the background.
Now it looks like LG wants to expand its QSlide windowed app features to third party apps as well, as the company has now officially announced the QSlide SDK.
The new QSlide SDK might not directly affect LG device owners just yet, but it does open the door to more floating window apps, as developers can now grab the SDK and bake support into their existing Android apps. The SDK allows developers to not only add floating windows, they also have the ability to set window transparency, window sizes, and can even add a shortcut to the QSlide tray.
If you’re an app developer, you can learn more about the QSlide SDK by visiting their developer portal. For those that rock a newer LG handset that supports QSlide, just sit tight and be happy with the knowledge that you might soon have access to even more QSlide apps.
