Two weeks ahead of the worldwide launch event, LG begins its teasing campaign for the G3 with a video that confirms all the design elements that leaked over the past weeks.

The video is emphasizing the brushed finish of the device, which we first saw in a leaked shot of the golden version of the G3. However, we’re still not sure about the build material, and the video doesn’t help clear up the confusion. We’re either looking at aluminum or at a very convincingly textured plastic. Either way, we think it looks good.

Other design elements highlighted in the video are the camera lens and buttons assembly on the back, the rear-mounted speaker, and the phone’s earpiece. There’s also a brief shot of the moving camera lens, a sure sign that the G3 will feature optical image stabilization.

With a Quad HD screen, fast processor, 3GB of RAM, and solid camera, the LG G3 shapes up to be well worth the wait. When it lands later this month, the G3 will go up against some very strong competitors, including Samsung’s Galaxy S5 (and possible its Prime variant) and the HTC One (M8).

Hardware-wise, the G3 will be hard to beat, and LG is also going to revamp the phones UI, if recent reports are accurate. Software design has been one of LG’s weaknesses so far, and it remains to be seen if the new, flatter UI is a step in the right directions, but first signs are promising.
