Last week the T-Mobile LG G2 saw Android 4.4 KitKat, at least for those willing to use the LG PC utility to download it. If you were one of the folks waiting off for an official OTA rollout, T-Mobile’s support page confirms the KitKat update will start pushing out over airwaves today — at least for those who manually initiate the download by going into settings to check for a new update.
The update won’t actually starting notifying folks of its arrival until sometime between the 6th of March and the 25th. So what’s new here? Not a whole lot, other than than the improvements you’d expect from Android 4.4 KitKat. T-Mobile’s change-log also notes auto brightness fixes and a few other “user improvements”.
This sounds pretty similar to what we’ve seen from KitKat updates for devices the Samsung GS4 and Note 3. Still, Android 4.4 KitKat brings enough changes that this is still a pretty solid update, even if there isn’t much new (if anything) in the way of carrier or manufacturer changes.
Keep in mind that these is still a staged rollout, so even manually pulling the update might not work just yet. So how about it, anyone get the update yet? If so, notice any other changes that aren’t mentioned in the brief change-log?
