Right now there’s just three Android Wear choices on the market: the Gear Live, G Watch and Moto 360. The latter of these devices isn’t exactly widely available at that, due to the fact that it’s still somewhat hard to come by outside of Motorola’s website, and is currently sold out at Google Play.
Looking for a fourth Android Wear option? Both ZDNet Korea and ETNews claim that the G Watch R’s launch may be just around the corner. Specifically, the watch will fully launch in South Korea on October 14th, though there is a rumor that one online retailer may offer the watch starting tomorrow as part of an exclusive ‘early offering’. The report doesn’t mention when exactly the global launch of the G Watch R will take place, but we wouldn’t be too surprised if it follows relatively closely to the South Korean launch. Of course, that’s really just speculation on our part.
As for the G Watch R’s pricing? The round watch will reportedly go on sale for KRW 352,000, or roughly $332. That’s pretty much the same price point as the also-round Moto 360. That’s also more expensive than the square G Watch, which costs KRW 270,000 or roughly $250.
What do you think, anyone holding out for the LG G Watch R? Based on everything we know and have seen, how do you feel it compares to the current crowd favorite, the Moto 360?
