How many screens does Hulu let you use at the same time?

Hulu offers thousands of shows and movies. Not to mention you can stream brand new episodes only a day after they’re aired on live TV. We can understand why the whole family might want to enjoy what the streaming service offers. Sadly, it seems some family members will have to fight for the remote.

You can download the app and add your Hulu account on as many devices as you wish. Hulu also allows users to create six profiles, which should be enough to cover most homes. Sadly, the multiple-screen streaming limit is not as generous. Hulu only allows two screens to stream simultaneously.

There are a couple of ways to bypass the two-screen streaming limit placed on Hulu subscribers. One of them will require some trickery. The other will be expensive.

Download content for offline watching

While not official, it’s possible to trick Hulu into letting you watch TV shows and movies on more than two screens. Hulu (No Ads) and Hulu (No Ads) + Live TV subscribers can download content for offline viewing. This means users can proactively download whatever they want to watch, turn off data and Wi-Fi, and simply play the downloaded videos. Hulu won’t see this device online, so it won’t count against the screen limit.

As with everything, there are some catches to keep in mind. For starters, not all content is downloadable. You’ll have to check if what you want to watch can be downloaded. Once you download a video, you have 30 days to watch it, unless it expires from the library before that. Once you start it, you have 48 hours to finish watching. You’ll have to re-download the show or movie if it is removed from your downloads. Additionally, you can only have 25 downloads at once.

Unlimited Screens Add-on

Did you think there was no official way to pay for the ability to stream on more screens simultaneously? There is! The thing is, it will be pretty expensive. The Unlimited Screens Add-on will cost $9.99 a month, but you can only activate it on Hulu + Live TV subscriptions, which start at $69.99. This means you have to pay at least $79.98 a month to enjoy Hulu on more than two screens!

The Unlimited Screens Add-on allows you to watch Hulu on as many screens as you wish, as long as the devices are connected to your home network. Additionally, users can stream on up to three mobile devices outside the home network.
