Although buying a HUAWEI smartphone in the United States isn’t impossible, it’s certainly not as easy as buying a smartphone from OEMs that have an official presence here, such as Samsung, LG, OnePlus, etc.

It appears, though, that getting a HUAWEI smartphone is going to be a little more difficult going forward, as B&H Photo — a longtime source for HUAWEI devices in the U.S. — is discontinuing smartphone listings from HUAWEI at a fast pace.

As of publishing this article, the only HUAWEI smartphone available to buy from B&H Photo is the HUAWEI P30 Lite, specifically in Peacock Blue (Midnight Black is discontinued). The HUAWEI P30 Pro is no longer listed on the site at all, nor is any device in the Mate 20 series.

We reached out to B&H about this new trend, but the company responded by declining to give a comment.

It’s highly likely that B&H is reacting to the government placing HUAWEI on the Entity List, which effectively bans U.S.-based companies from working with HUAWEI. It’s also possible that getting HUAWEI phones shipped to the U.S. is becoming too difficult for B&H to keep them stocked. We’ve also heard rumors that HUAWEI is cutting production on certain phones, which could add to the problem.

Whatever the case may be, if you’re looking for a HUAWEI smartphone, you’re going to have to use a different source for the time being. As of now, your best bets are likely eBay, Swappa, and Amazon.
