The Desire 310 looks to be a nice hardware upgrade to the old Desire 300, opting for a currently unspecified 1.3GHz quad-core processor, compared with the old 1GHz dual-core setup, which should make it a fair bit faster. The display has also received a slight bump, moving on up to a 4.5 inch screen, although we don’t yet know the resolution. The handset will also feature a 5 MP rear facing camera.

Despite the long press release, HTC hasn’t revealed any further details about the Desire 300 yet, but I’d be surprised if the other specs are too much of a departure from HTC’s older budget model. Interestingly, the press renders seems to have left the stock Android icons and status bar in the picture. Whilst this is likely a mistake, it suggests that the handset might be shipping with Android Jelly Bean, rather than KitKat.
