For all attention seekers: HTC One launches in Glamour Red

A new variant of the popular HTC One was announced today. Garbed in Glamour Red, the new version will initially be exclusive at the UK retailer Phones 4u.

Looking for a head-turning phone but the low-key grey and black versions of the HTC One just won’t cut it? Then the Glamour Red HTC One, to launch exclusively at the UK retailer Phones 4U, might be the device for you.

Today, HTC officially unveiled the new red One in a press release, hot on the heels of the HTC One Google Play edition (or whatever it’s called these days) going for sale in the US. It looks that for now, the Glamour Red HTC One, which “makes a striking yet sophisticated statement”, will only sell in the UK, with a release date in mid-July. According to Phones 4u, quoted by Engadget, the device will sell starting from £33 per month on contract.

Rumors about a red version of the HTC One started swirling as soon as the phone was made official, with the variant even making a brief appearance on HTC’s own website.

With the Glamour Red One, HTC looks to be borrowing a trick from Samsung’s arsenal. The Korean giant has been selling its devices in a rainbow of colors, seemingly trying to satisfy every taste.

We’re all for choice here at Android Authority, so we think that HTC is doing the right thing diversifying its offering, at a time when consumers increasingly adopt bright colors and move away from the drab blacks and greys that characterized the first few years of the smartphone revolution.
