Rumors of the upcoming HTCNexus 9 tablet have been spreading like a harsh virus, but today we are getting what could be the most legit details about the mythical tablet. A legal document coming from NVIDIA has confirmed that the HTCNexus 9 (as they called it) is to be released during the third quarter of 2014. Of course, it’s also mentioned it will carry a powerful NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor.

This legal document is related to a case in which NVIDIA claims Qualcomm and Samsung are infringing on their GPU patents. Such a document would normally go unnoticed, but you can be sure an Android fan or two will notice NVIDIA talking about the HTCNexus 9.

Tegra K1

The document reads:

“The HTCNexus 9, expected in the third quarter of 2014, is also expected to use the Tegra K1.”

But of course, it didn’t take long for one of the affected companies to notice. The document has now been edited and has no mention of the HTCNexus 9. Thankfully, tech journalist Chris Chavez captured a screenshot of the PDF file before the evidence disappeared.

Chris is a close friend of mine and has told me that he read the PDF document and took the screenshot below, himself.

With that said, we can assume this was a quick slip. It happens to be a legal document, so we doubt it would be incorrect information. With that said, Q3 2014 is nearing its end. We may very well hear more about it soon!

Just keep in mind, the evidence is now gone, officially turning this into a rumor. Take it with a grain of salt and don’t hold your breath on this information just yet.
