Today HTC and Verizon Wireless officially announced the DROID Incredible, an Android 2.1 slab smartphones with a 3.7-inch 800 x 480 pixel AMOLED display.
Not unlike the HTC Desire that was launched at Mobile World Congress, the similarly sized DROID Incredible features an optical joystick controller, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and the full suite of HTC Sense user interface enhancements, including the new Friend Stream system that merges Facebook and Twitter status updates with Flickr photo updates.
The Incredible also features an auto-focus 8 megapixel camera with a dual-LED flash, touch sensitive controls, GPS support, and Wi-Fi. Music lovers will appreciate being able to plug a standard set of 3.5mm headphones into the device, too.
Pre-orders for the DROID Incredible begin on April 19th, and it should be available in stores on April 29th. Pricing is set at $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate that comes in the form of a debit card.
Users will be required to sign up for a $29.99/mo data plan on top of the cost of a normal voice plan.
