HTC Desire 8 confirmed via teaser images, will officially be unveiled Feb. 24
Despite generating quite a bit of excitement with the HTC One and its related variants, HTC is still struggling to turn the ship around fiscally. Last week we learned that part of the company’s strategy for recovery will revolve around focusing more on the mid-range market. Only a few days later the HTC Desire 8 leaked out, which purportedly will have mid-range specs while following a design style that is reminiscent of the HTC One.
Now HTC has all but confirmed the handset’s existence by posting several teaser images of the device on its Weibo account. In addition to the images, the company also revealed that the handset will be officially unveiled on February 24th in Beijing. It’s currently unclear if or when HTC plans to bring the handset to markets outside of China, but we wouldn’t be too surprised if they do.
So what does the Desire 8 bring to the table, specs-wise? Although official specs aren’t know, the rumor mill claims the handset will have a large 5.5-inch display, dual-SIM support, a 13MP rear cam and a 5MP front cam. As you can see in the render above, the handset will also feature dual speakers and moves away from physical buttons. For those that like options when it comes to the outer-look of the device, you’ll be happy to know that the Desire 8 will be offered in five colors: white, red, yellow, orange, and cyan.
What do you think, if the price is right and it becomes available in your region, would you be interested in the mid-range Desire 8?
