New HTC Desire 8 press photos arrive, shows at least one color variant
Although the HTC Desire 8 has yet to be officially unveiled, HTC has done a pretty bad job at keeping this one a secret. Thanks to both HTC teaser images and various leaks, we not only know what the HTC Desire 8 will look like, but we also have a pretty good idea about what kind of hardware it’s packing underneath.
Further squashing any mystery left, HTC has now released two more images of the device to its Weibo account (seen above and below). In addition to the new images, we have also received even more details regarding the specs, thanks to the latest tweet from @evleaks.
Interestingly enough, the HTC Desire 8 will reportedly launch in five colors: black, white, red, yellow and purple. The big question is what color is the image below supposed to be. It looks a bit more like a very dark blue than a black, but maybe the render’s coloring is just a bit off.
Aside from coming in multiple colors, the HTC Desire 8 is a decent mid-ranger with a 1.6Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 400 CPU, 1.5GB of RAM, a 5.5-inch 720p SuperLCD2 display, a 13MP rear cam, 5MP front cam and BoomSound speakers. The handset will also reportedly feature microSD, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, and Android 4.4.2 with Sense 6.0.
While the HTC Desire 8 isn’t nearly as exciting as the higher-end HTC One (2014), it’s still shaping up to be a pretty solid device for those that don’t want or need bleeding-edge specs. Now all we need are specifics when it comes to launch details, though we expect to learn more at MWC 2014 in the coming days.
What do you think of the HTC Desire 8 based on what we currently know? Anyone planning on picking this one up, if and when it arrives to your local market?
