How to add or remove a watermark in a PowerPoint presentation
Watermarks are a way to add a touch of professionalism and uniformity to your content. For example, you can add your logo as a watermark on a YouTube video to let people know that you created and uploaded it. In a PowerPoint presentation, you can watermark your slides with text or images. Let’s review how to add a watermark to PowerPoint slides.

THE SHORT ANSWER
To add a watermark to PowerPoint, go to View > Slide Master. Click the top slide. Click Insert > Text Box (or Pictures). Add your watermark text (or image), then right-click it. Select Format Shape… (or Format Picture…). Use the Text Options (or Picture) tab in the side panel to customize your watermark. When finished, click Slide Master > Close Master View.

Go to the View tab in your PowerPoint.

Within the Master Views section, select Slide Master.

In the Slide Master mode, scroll up the slides on the left and select the top slide.

Click the Insert tab at the top.

Select Text Box from the Text section. Draw the text box for your watermark.

Type in the text for your watermark.

Right-click the border of your text box. From the following options, select Format Shape….

In the Format Shape panel, click the Text Options tab.

Here, you can customize the Text Fill (or the color and pattern of your watermark text), the Transparency of the text, and the Text Outline. Use these options to customize the look and feel of the text you’re using for your watermark.

When finished, go to Slide Master > Close Master View.

Your watermark will now appear on your PowerPoint slides.

Image or logo
Go to the View tab in your PowerPoint.

Within the Master Views section, select Slide Master.

In the Slide Master mode, scroll up the slides on the left and select the top slide.

Click the Insert tab at the top.

Select Pictures and add your image to the PowerPoint.

Right-click the picture and select Format Picture….

In the panel on the right, there are four icon tabs: Fill & Line (bucket), Effects (pentagon), Size & Properties (square being measured), and Picture (photograph).
Select Picture.

Here, you can format Picture Corrections, Picture Color, Picture Transparency, and Crop your image. Use these parameters to customize the look and feel of your watermark image.

When finished, click the Slide Master tab at the top. Select Close Master View.

Your watermark image will now appear in your PowerPoint slides.

How to remove a watermark in PowerPoint
- In your PowerPoint, click the View tab at the top.
- Select Slide Master.
- Locate your watermark and select it.
- Either right-click and select Cut or press Delete on your keyboard.
- Go to Slide Master > Close Master View.
