The app’s temporary nature means Snapchat doesn’t have a strong focus on uploading your current pictures or clips to the platform, but it is possible. You just have to dig around a bit to find the option. Today, we’ll teach you how to upload your saved photos and videos to Snapchat.

To upload saved images and videos to Snapchat, you need to use the Memories feature. Open the Snapchat app, tap on the icon with two photos next to the shutter button, go into the Camera Roll tab, and select the photo or video you want to upload.   1. Launch the app. You should be directed to the main camera page.

How to upload photos to Snapchat Memories, and videos, too

It’s pretty easy to save any images or videos stored on your smartphone to Memories. Just follow these steps.

  1. Launch the Snapchat app.
  2. Tap on the small icon located to the left of the shutter button. It looks like an icon with two photos.
  3. Go into the Camera Roll tab.
  4. Pick one of your photos or videos that can be saved to Snapchat Stories or sent to a friend.
  5. You can edit your Snap by clicking on the pencil icon.
  6. Tap the Send To button.
  7. Select who you want to send the Snap to.

Some believe Snapchat only works with pictures and videos you shoot through the app. This is not the case. You can use the Memories section to upload your photos and videos to app.

Photos need to be 5MB or less. It also needs to be in JPG or PNG format.

Snapchat videos need to be 1GB or smaller. Supported formats include Mp4 and Mov. The video also needs to be three to 180 seconds long. If the video was created using Snap Publisher, it can only be 30 seconds long.
