Audible is virtually impossible to ignore in the audiobook world, being a well-known brand with the weight of Amazon behind it. An important thing to know before considering a subscription, however, is how and when Audible lets you return a title.

QUICK ANSWER

If you're an Audible Premium Plus subscriber, you can return any title paid for in credits within 365 days of purchase. Go to your Purchase History on the web, and select Return this title for the item you want to return.

What is Audible’s return policy?

Audible Home Page

You can only return an Audible title if you’re subscribed to the company’s most expensive plan, Audible Premium Plus. The policy also applies exclusively to titles purchased with credits, and Audible reserves the right to intervene in cases like “excessive” returns, or repeated returns where it’s obvious you listened to most or all of a recording.

While restrictions are tight overall, the good news is that you can make a return within 365 days of purchase. That’s generous compared to most online media stores.

How to return a book on the Audible website

  • Visit your Purchase History page, and sign in with your Amazon account if you haven’t already.
  • Find the book you want to return, then click Return this title if you’re eligible.
  • Click Confirm to complete the process.

How to return a book on the Audible mobile website

  • Go to audible.com, and tap the menu icon in the upper-left corner.
  • Sign in with your Amazon account.
  • Tap the menu icon again, then your name.
  • Scroll down and select Purchase history.
  • Tap on the book you want to return, then Return this title.
  • Hit Confirm to finish.
