How to add music to your Apple Watch
Add music to your Apple Watch to listen to your favorite jams on the go, without your phone nearby.
- Open the Watch app on your iPhone and tap the My Watch tab.
- Scroll down to and tap Music.
- Tap Add Music.
- Select albums and playlists to sync to your Apple Watch.
You can also add music right from the watch itself if you are an Apple Music subscriber.
- Open the Music app on your Apple Watch.
- Tap Listen Now or Search, then navigate to the music you want to add.
- Tap a playlist or album, then tap the three dots and tap Add to Library.

How to remove music from your Apple Watch
- On your iPhone, open the Watch app and tap the My Watch tab.
- Scroll down to and tap Music.
- Tap Edit in the top right corner.
- If you don’t see Edit, no music is saved to your watch.
- Under Playlists & Albums, tap the delete icon next to the music you want to remove, then tap Delete. Tap Done.
- You can also turn off any automatically added playlists that you don’t want on your watch.
From your Apple Watch:
- Open the Music app, and tap Music.
- Tap Library, then scroll down to and tap Downloaded.
- Tap Playlists, Albums, or Songs, then swipe left over the music you want to delete and tap the three dots, then tap Remove and tap Delete.
- You may be prompted to turn on Sync Library in Settings>Music on your iPhone.
