Help the Ministry of Magic solve magical mysteries with WB’s new promotional game
Warner Bros.’ hype game is strong – it launched yet another app for the upcoming film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and while it’s definitely not the most exhilarating game ever, I have to say, it’s more challenging than you think.
With the film set to be released tomorrow in most areas in North America, Warner Bros. is doing everything it can to promote it. And Fantastic Beasts: Cases from the Wizarding World is the company’s latest attempt. Available for download in the Play Store, the game will let you jump into the fictional world to help investigate various unexplained happenings:
The Ministry of Magic is relying on you to crack the case as one of the brightest new recruits of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. From nifflers to unicorns, centaurs to dragons, you protect them all. Use your training to investigate beastly happenings and prove yourself as the smartest, sharpest wizard.
You will find hidden objects in magical landscapes, interview witnesses, analyze evidence, learn new spells, and decipher clues to solve mysteries. Along the way, you can get help from your partner if you’re ever stuck. As Mary Casey – the director of product at WB Games – explains, the main goal of the game is to let the player experience and reach out into the wizarding world. That’s exactly why the company has decided to include some very familiar places from the original Harry Potter series like Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. And quite frankly, they did a fine job.

Although Cases from the Wizarding World isn’t supposed to be a game that gives you an adrenaline rush, the graphics are amazing, and if you are a fan of the series, it could be a nice way to kill time as you wait for the film.
