TL;DR
  • A new Google Chromebook has appeared on a Play Console listing.
  • The device, code-named Zork, will seemingly sport AMD silicon.
  • It’s unclear when the device will make its official debut.

News of a new Google-branded Chromebook first surfaced at the end of 2019. Benchmarks of that device code-named Zork emerged in April. That same device is seemingly back, now appearing on Google’s Play Console.

Spotted by 91Mobiles, the listing reveals key specs of the Chromebook. The Google Zork will seemingly sport all-AMD silicon governed by a dual-core quad-thread Ryzen 3 3250C topping out at 3.5GHz. It’ll be mated to 4GB of RAM and a Radeon Vega 3 GPU at 1.2GHz.

Although the console listing states the Zork runs Android 9, it seems more likely to run Chrome OS as it’s labeled a Chromebook. Notably, the mention of Android 9 also appeared in the Geekbench listings in April. Benchmarks are easy to manipulate, so take that with a pinch of salt.

Other features include a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution with a pixel density of 160 PPI. This points to a diagonal display size of around 14 inches.

For now, storage figures, I/O, dimensions, and price remain unknown. That said, it’s likely this specific machine won’t be a new flagship Pixelbook, but we wouldn’t rule out future models with swifter AMD hardware.

It’s unclear when the Google Zork will make its official debut, or what moniker it’ll ultimately bear. But judging by its appearance on the Play Console, we wouldn’t be too surprised to hear more about it in the coming months.
