Google announced today that Google Fit is finally expanding to iPhones. The app is available now in the Apple App Store (link below).

Previously, iOS users could only use the Google Fit interface if they owned a Wear OS smartwatch and happened to look in the Wear OS for iOS companion app. Now, the full-fledged Google Fit app is available for iOS devices across the board — no smartwatch required.

Google announced a major redesign for Google Fit back in August 2018. Not only did that major update bring an all-new look to the fitness- and activity-tracking app, it also featured two new activity goals that changed the way users would interact with the app. Move Minutes and Heart Points are both featured prominently on Google Fit’s home screen — the former stands for the total number of minutes you’ve moved, and the latter stands for how intensely you move during your physical activity.

You can connect Google Fit for iOS with other services like Apple Health, Sleep Cycle, Nike Run Club, and Headspace in order to view all your activity data inside one app. There are bound to be other compatible third-party apps available at launch too — one of the best things about Google Fit is its compatibility with other fitness apps.
