Google Duo will finally get multi-device support

Version 27 of Google Duo will finally lay the groundwork for a sought-after feature that arguably should have been there from the start: multi-device support.
Unlike Hangouts and other Google messaging apps, Duo accounts are tied to phone numbers rather than email addresses. This prevents Duo users from registering more than one device to one Duo account.
Code found in Version 27 confirms that you will eventually be able to sign up for Duo with your Google account. This news arrived via Android Police, though the APK teardown did not reveal whether multiple accounts can be used on one device.
Elsewhere, Duo will soon add a notification that blocks calls from particular senders. We are not sure yet if this notification will show up as a missed call.
There’s also a change coming to the way Duo automatically enters verification codes sent to you as SMS messages. That step will soon ask for your permission to read your text messages and notify you that it will send a one-time SMS.
Finally, Duo has redesigned its full contacts page that is accessed by swiping up. Duo’s latest update now shows a search bar that peeks halfway from the bottom of the screen to remind you of the contacts page.
Unlike the other features, the peeking search bar appears to be live for everyone.
