How to send a video message using Google Duo

Google Duo is a great video chat app. It works well for one-to-one conversations, and group chats are easy to set up. However, there’s much more to Duo than basic video communications. One such bonus feature is the ability to send a 30-second Google Duo video message.

If someone doesn’t answer your video call, Duo automatically lets you send a message instead. Sometimes, you might want to send someone a quick video instead of calling them altogether. You can send a Google Duo video message to as many as 32 individuals and groups in those instances. Here’s how to do it.

How to send a video message on Google Duo

Sending a video message in Google Duo is super easy, and it only takes a few steps.

1. Open the Google Duo app.
2. Tap on the New call button.
3. Select the contact you want to send a message to.
4. Tap on the Send icon, which looks like an arrow pointing to the right.
5. Hit the Record button to start your video message.
6. Tap the Stop button to stop the video message.
7. You can now add Text or Draw on the video.
8. When done, select Send.

How to send an audio message on Google Duo

Videos offer a complete communication experience, but these can be unnecessary. Sometimes audio will do, and Google Duo allows you to send audio messages.

1. Open the Google Duo app.
2. Tap on the New call button.
3. Select the contact you want to send a message to.
4. Tap on the Send icon, which looks like an arrow pointing to the right.
5. Scroll over to Voice.
6. Hit the Record button to start your voice message.
7. Tap the Stop button to stop the voice message.
8. Select Send.

How to send a photo message on Google Duo

Even photos can say 1,000 words!

1. Open the Google Duo app.
2. Tap on the New call button.
3. Select the contact you want to send a message to.
4. Tap on the Send icon, which looks like an arrow pointing to the right.
5. Scroll over to Photo.
6. From here, you can add Filters and Effects.
7. Hit the Shutter button to shoot your photo.
8. You can now add Text or Draw on the photo.
9. Select Send.

How to send a note on Google Duo

Lastly, you can also send notes using the same method.

1. Open the Google Duo app.
2. Tap on the New call button.
3. Select the contact you want to send a message to.
4. Tap on the Send icon, which looks like an arrow pointing to the right.
5. Scroll over to Note.
6. Hit Tap to type to start typing.
7. You can add Text or Draw on the note.
8. It’s also possible to use change the Background or Font.
9. Select Send when ready.
