Google is teaming up with celebrities for video answers to your questions

Google and a long list of celebrities are teaming up to bring you video answers to your questions like "Does Will Ferrell really play the drums?"

Google is famous for many products, but its bread and butter has always been search. It’s the first and the most popular product it ever launched. When you want to find out information, you don’t ask Jeeves, head over to Alta Vista, or Bing it. You Google it.

Google has rolled out many changes to search over the years, but a new pilot program is one of the coolest we’ve seen. Now, when you search for answers on your phone about certain celebrities, you have a chance to get an answer directly from them. The results come in the form of a video you’d expect to see from a front-facing camera on a phone and cover a range of topics.

There’s already a healthy group of celebrities supporting the new feature. It has videos from movie stars like Will Ferrell, James Franco, Mark Wahlberg, and Priyanka Chopra, TV stars like Tracee Ellis Ross, Gina Rodrigues, Kenan Thompson, Allison Williams, and Seth MacFarlane, and others like Nick Jonas, Jonathan Yeo, and Dominique Ansel.

The videos answer a wide range of questions like “Does Will Ferrell really play the drums?” or “Can Tracee Ellis Ross sing?” While the celebrities won’t answer every question you have, it will be a fun surprise when they pop up with a personalized answer. Just remember that this is a pilot program and more videos may debut over time. And hey, maybe we’ll get some new celebrities in the mix too.
