The Samsung Galaxy S5 is scheduled to land in over 150 countries across the globe in early-to-mid April, and that includes all four major U.S. carriers in addition to UScellular. Whenever a device gets this close to its market arrival, it’s only a matter of time before the first official firmware builds reach the net, and for the GS5 that day is today.

Firmware from the Chinese SM-G9009D is available to download as we speak over at SamMobile’s website, with a build date listed as March 12. Once one build arrives, you can pretty much expect builds from other countries to surface in relatively short order. It’s also only a matter of time before folks start cracking open the firmware to extract images, wallpapers, sounds and Samsung’s latest updated apps.

Speaking to the latter point, SamMobile has actually already made the latest version of S Voice available for those interested.

If you’re the kind that likes digging deep into firmware builds, you’ll certainly want to give this one a download. As for those that are simply looking for wallpapers and other files/apps from the GS5? Be sure to stay tuned to Android Authority, as we’ll be sure to keep you updated if/when more apps and GS5-related goodies leak to the web.

What do you think, are you excited for the Samsung Galaxy S5’s arrival, or are you perfectly content with simply getting your hands on the GS5’s apps and other software features so you can install them on your existing Samsung device?
