KitKat rolling out to international Galaxy S4 I9500, UScellular variant as well

Earlier today we learned that Sprint and UScellular are rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, roughly a month after the update first surfaced for the international version of the Galaxy Note 3. Now we have learned that select Galaxy S4 users are also getting some KitKat lovin’.
According to SamMobile, Android 4.4 is now arriving to the Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 (Eyxnos CPU, no LTE model) in Russia and India. Of equal interest, UScellular has listed Android 4.4 KitKat as the latest available version of the OS for the Galaxy S4, and we’ve received several reports from UScellular customers that suggest the update is already starting to roll out.
Android 4.4 KitKat updates for both the international and UScellular models of the Galaxy S4 are reportedly available in OTA form or via Samsung’s Kies desktop software. If you’ve yet to receive a notification from your handset, you can always check manually by going to Settings> More> About Device> Software.

So what’s new here? The biggest change is the fact that the update will allow your device to move beyond Jelly Bean, bringing you Android 4.4 KitKat and all the new features that come with it. Unfortunately, we’ve yet to get our hands on a full change-log, so we really can’t say much when it comes to carrier-specific or Samsung-specific changes. That said, previous ROM leaks reveal that we’ll likely see at least a few TouchWiz UI changes, including white status bar icons and even some changes to the lock-screen.
For users of the GT-I9500 Galaxy S4, we imagine that the update will first rollout to all of Russia and India. If all goes well, we’d expect it to hit other countries shortly thereafter. As for those in North America? Considering the UScellular Galaxy S4 is already reportedly starting to roll out, we’d imagine that larger U.S. carriers should follow shortly. Either way, we’ll be sure to report back as soon as we learn more!
Have you received Android 4.4 KitKat for the Galaxy S4 yet? If so, what version are you rocking, and in what country?
