Galaxy S3 pre-orders start at Sprint, Verizon, AT&T and Best Buy retail stores

June 6, 2012

The waiting might have been frustrating for some US tech fans, but you are now officially one step closer to getting the Samsung Galaxy S3. Sammy’s new flagship can now be pre-ordered from the nation’s three biggest carriers, as well as from Best Buy’s retail stores.

Sprint has been the first American carrier to accept S3 pre-orders and the good thing about the network’s offering is that you can get both the Pebble Blue and Marble White models in 16 and 32 GB versions. The 16 GB Galaxy S3 can be pre-ordered at this link and will cost you $199.99 with a two-year carrier agreement, while the 32 GB model is available at this link and goes for $249.99 with the same standard 24-month contract.

June 21 is, as you might already know, the S3’s expected shipping date, but Sprint might have a surprise in store for you, as you can see a message on their website saying that “we’ll do our best to get it to you before Thursday, June 21”.

AT&T’s pre-orders for the S3 started 24 hours later than those on Sprint and, as expected, you can only get the 16 GB model for now in Pebble Blue and Marble White. We don’t know if the 32 GB version will be made available by AT&T anytime soon (or ever), while the exclusive snazzy red model should pop up on the carrier’s website in a matter of days or weeks, at the latest.

The Galaxy S3 on AT&T goes for the same $199.99 price with a two-year carrier agreement, and, like on all other major US carriers, you’ll get 2 GB of RAM and a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor under the phone’s hood.

Verizon couldn’t have missed the S3 pre-order show, but, as you would expect from the nation’s number one carrier, Big Red is fashionably late to the party. You’ll be able to pre-order Verizon’s S3 starting today, June 6, at 7 am EDT, which is several hours later than Sprint and AT&T.

The white and blue versions in 16 and 32 GB should all be made available by Verizon at prices of $199.99 and $249.99 on contract, but Big Red hasn’t announced when they’ll start shipping the phones (although some rumors suggest a long delay until July 9).

Everybody’s go-to electronics retailer, Best Buy, has also started taking pre-orders for the Galaxy S3, in 334 retail locations and in big box locations. On Best Buy’s website, Sammy’s new phone hasn’t yet popped up, but that should happen pretty soon as well. You should also know that BB is only taking pre-orders for AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon’s S3, with T-Mobile and US Cellular-branded models to probably follow soon.

There you have it, folks, the S3 is finally at your discretion and is eagerly waiting for you to pre-order it! Will you be doing that anytime soon? And if so, what is your carrier of choice?
