Samsung’s latest flagship, the Galaxy Note 7, was launched in India at a press event in Delhi earlier today. While we were expecting a couple of mid-range and entry-level smartphones to accompany it, Samsung instead introduced a slew of accessories to complement their latest Galaxy Note, with devices including the the new Gear VR headset, Gear IconX wireless earbud, and Gear Fit 2 fitness tracker.

The Galaxy Note 7 is the first of the series to feature a dual-edge curved design and IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, and the first Samsung device that comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 panel to keep the display protected, a USB Type-C charging port, and an iris scanner.

As far as differences between the Indian version and US variant go, the former is powered by the Samsung Exynos 8890 processor, while the latter comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. The Indian version also features dual-SIM capabilities, but comes with a hybrid slot, which means that the second SIM slot doubles as a microSD card slot, which leaves users with the choice between expandable storage or dual-SIM.

Samsung also introduced the Gear VR headset, which gets a slight change in design, along with a wider 101 degrees field of view, and a USB Type-C port as well as micro USB port to make it compatible with other Galaxy devices.

Then there is the Samsung Gear IconX fitness earbuds, which don’t have any wires between themselves and can be connected to your smartphone without any wires as well. With the Gear IconX, you get 3.5GB of built-in storage, two microphones, and sensors for tracking steps, heart rate, and calories burned. You also get a sleek carry case that doubles up as a charger for the earbuds.

Finally, there is the Gear Fit 2, which comes with an updated design, built-in GPS, and the ability to recognize all your activities and then sync that data with Samsung’s S Health app.

Not surprisingly, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 commands a premium price tag, and buyers will have to shell out Rs 59,900 (~$898) for the device. If you pre-order the phone, you do get some special offers, including the Reliance Jio Preview, which offers free voice and data for 90 days, as well as access Reliance Jio content services.

Samsung is further sweetening by offering the new Gear VR at a special price of Rs 1,990 (~$30) during the pre-order period, with the headset otherwise priced at Rs 7,290 (~$110). The Gear Fit 2 and IconX wireless earbuds will sell for Rs 13,990 (~$210) and Rs 13,490 (~$203), respectively.
