Fragment - Indie app of the day
What is Fragment?
Fragment is a prismatic photo editor that allows you to create works of art out of pretty much any photo. Most photo editors focus on things like brightness, contrast, lighting, and color correction to make photos look more realistic. Fragment throws this frame of mind out of the window and opts instead to let you do all sorts of weird and fun things to turn it into something else entirely.
Here’s how it works. The first thing you do is take some pictures or choose one you’ve already taken. Then you use the tools built into Fragment to distort, alter, or otherwise tweak the image until it is a one-of-a-kind piece of prismatic art. To see the level and depth of control, see the video above. You can not only create prismatic shapes but you can also alter other attributes of the photo like brightness. It takes a minute to get used to but you can create some really fun stuff.
It comes with a share function (obviously) so you can share stuff with your friends or followers on social media. It’s $1.99 but there are no in app purchases. The only bad part is that there’s no demo and we would’ve liked to have seen one. There is also a function to undo all of the stuff you’ve done to an image and start fresh from scratch if you don’t like where your current photo is going.
