Google Flight Search goes live in Europe

As of today, residents in the UK, France, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands will finally be able to make use of Google's Flight Search to help plan their trips abroad.

Google’s Flight Search service has been available across the pond for quite a while now, but finally we Europeans are being bought up to speed. If you reside in the UK, France, Italy, Spain or the Netherlands, then you’ll be able to make use of Flight Search to help plan your trips abroad.

Using Flight Search you can search through, compare, and book flights from any of the countries listed above to any destination around the world. The information is available in eight languages; English, French, Italian, Spanish, Basque, Catalan, Galician, and Dutch, and prices will be displayed in your local currency.

As well as searching for destinations, Flight Search also has the option to compare the cost of flights with days of the month, allowing you to plan your holiday around the cheapest fairs if you so desire. There are also filters for price, airline, number of changes, and all the other options usually available on travel websites. There’s also plenty of additional functionality thanks to the map interface, which let’s you see the closest airports to your desired destination after applying your various filters.

It’s certainly a well designed site, with all the functionality you’d expect from Google. The website is also optimized for mobile devices too, so you can find your flights on the go.
