Popular iOS hit 'Flappy Birds' arrives to Google Play

The highly addictive iOS game 'Flappy Birds' has now arrived to Android. Best of all, the game is completely free through Google Play. Read on to learn more!

The idea of navigating a bird with flight issues past a set of pipes that are in the way probably doesn’t sound all that exciting, but that hasn’t stopped Flappy Birds from becoming a hit. Not only has the game done extremely well on iOS, it recently arrived to Google Play and has already garnered 39869 5-star reviews and 9190 4-star reviews.

Okay, but surely there is more to the game than this, right? Not really. Basically, you tap the screen and the bird bobs up a little. Tap too much, you hit and pipe and you lose. Each time you make it past a pipe, you get a point. It might sound simplistic, but it’s actually harder than it looks — and frustrating to boot.

While some of us might not call this game “fun”, it’s pretty addicting if you’re the kind of person that hates to lose or give up. Flappy Bird’s graphics are also a nice throw-back to the bygone era of 8-bit gaming, with the pipes particularly reminiscent of Super Mario Brothers.

Probably another contributing factor to the game’s success is that Flappy Birds is absolutely free and has no in-app purchases. It does have some some pop-up advertisements from time-to-time, however. To check out the game for yourself, you’ll want to head on over to Google Play.
