Facebook Mentions

For us normal folks, the standard Facebook for Android application will do the trick when it comes to keeping tabs on friends and family members. For people who have a verified account, though, it can be a tad more difficult to connect with fans when using the normal version of the app. So if you happen to be an actor, musician or any other type of celebrity, there’s a new app available in the Google Play Store called Facebook Mentions that will let you communicate with your followers much more easily.

Facebook Mentions is currently only available to verified public figures, so we understand the reach of this app is pretty limited at this time. It lets you record and post live videos directly from within the app, talk with followers about different topics, get posts from people you follow, and even share updates, photos, videos and more with followers directly from your smartphone. You’ll also be able to share your Facebook posts to Instagram and Twitter from the Mentions app, which is a nice touch.

If you have a verified page and would like to gain access to Facebook Mentions, you can sign up by following this link. As stated above, you’ll need a verified public page to access Mentions. If you aren’t verified, the app won’t really do much aside from take up roughly 87MB of space on your phone.
