Update for the Exynos powered Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900H) boosts performance

Samsung has released its G900HXXU1ANG3 update for the Exynos variant of its Galaxy S5 (SM-G900H), featuring numerous performance tweaks and improvements.
July 25, 2014

Following on from the performance update for the Snapdragon version of the Samsung Galaxy S5, which also touched up the handset’s fingerprint recognition technology, comes a similar update to the Exynos SoC handset variant (SM-G900H).

The new build carries the new G900HXXU1ANG3 baseband version, and weighs in at 200MB, which is just slightly larger than the 194MB update for the Snapdragon Galaxy S5.

However, nothing major is set to change with this update, the operating system will remain as Android 4.4.2, and there doesn’t appear to be any new software features or apps included. Instead, this is an update based entirely around performance tweaks and improvements.

An OTA update notification should arrive automatically when the update is available in your region. Alternatively, you can force a manual check from the Settings » About phone » Software updates menu. If all else fails, software updates can also be found through Samsung’s Kies software.

The update has so far been spotted rolling out in India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia and Kazakhstan, and is expected to arrive in numerous other regions over the next few days and weeks. As usual, carrier branded handsets will probably have to wait a little longer for any update.
