Disney Plus just raised its prices in the US (Update)

The Disney Plus price increase means the streaming service price went up from $6.99 to $7.99 a month in the United States.

Update – March 26, 2021 – As promised, the Disney Plus price has now gone up in the US by $1, from $6.99 to $7.99 a month.


Disney Plus subscribers have enjoyed one of the biggest bargains in the streaming industry for the past year, but in March 2021, the price went up. In December 2020, during Disney’s investor’s day, the company announced that in the US, it would put into action a Disney Plus price increase, from $6.99 a month to $7.99 a month.

Also, the price of the service’s yearly subscription price went up from $69.99 to $79.99 a year, and the bundle of Disney Plus, Hulu (with ads), and ESPN Plus went up by a dollar as well, to $13.99 a month. The monthly price in continental Europe also went up, from €7.99 to €8.99 a month. Disney also announced a new bundle combining Disney Plus, ESPN Plus, and Hulu (ad-free) for $18.99/month. By all accounts, Disney Plus has been a highly successful venture for the company since it launched in November 2019. Currently, the service now has over 100 million subscribers worldwide. The company is now predicting that Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN Plus will have a worldwide combined total of between 300 million and 350 million subscribers by its 2024 fiscal year.

In February 2021, Disney also launched its new Star streaming brand, which was added to Disney Plus in Canada, Europe, and other parts of the world. It will also launch as a stand-alone app, Star Plus, in Latin America in June 2021.
