Deal alert: $100 off Moto X, Droid Ultra, Maxx and Mini with Motorola’s existing trade-up program
The newly announced Motorola handsets have been included in Motorola’s trade up program, which gets qualifying customers a $100 rebate on their chosen handset.
In case you’re interested in buying either one of the 2013 Motorola smartphones – including the Moto X, the Droid Ultra, the Droid Maxx and the Droid Mini – and still have an old Motorola handset around, you may be interested in checking out the deal.
Obviously, the offer is particularly interesting in case you happen to own an older Motorola smartphone, which you’d have a hard time selling for a serious profit anyway. In case you want to trade up from 2012 Motorola handsets, you may be better off trying to sell your device and then use the money to buy one of the new models, since they aren’t eligible for a trade up anyway.
In order to get the $100 back from Motorola – which will be awarded in form of a Motorola Visa Prepaid Card that will be shipped within 6-8 weeks after completing the process – you’ll have to buy your chosen device first, whether it’s a Moto X, Droid Ultra, Maxx or Mini.
After that, you’ll have to mail Motorola the used Motorola phone and proof of purchase for the new device (copy of receipt and UPC code), in order for the company to ship your prepaid card.
Naturally, before you go down this way, make sure your older Motorola handset qualifies by starting the trade up process on mototradeup.com.
